Last June the First version of the Layar Reality Browser was launched in the Netherlands with a select number of partners. For the new and improved version 2.0 about 100 integrators worldwide were invited to develop and integrate a layer in Layar. Among the 15 Dutch companies to be invited to create such a layer for the application was JE IT&C. Since August 17th, Layar is available for everyone with an Android phone anywhere in the world. The Reality Browser can be downloaded in all local Android Markets.
Rental Real Estate on your Mobile
With the experience in the area of geographical representation and the easy-of-use of the Layar API, JE IT&C was able to develop an information layer in relatively a small period of time. Woonnet Rijnmond offered to disclose their rental real estate database in the region of Rotterdam, the Netherlands, for this project. These data are normally available on a Rich Internet Application: www.woonnet-rijnmond.nl.
JE IT&C provided this data of properties using the Layar programming interface (API) so the coordinates and search request of the end-users are processed for use from the mobile phone. Layar distributes the content and its Augmented Reality (AR) application.
Vision
JE IT&C expects that by integrating services, in 2012 all business processes will be established through the internet and handled by devices. JE IT&C anticipates dynamically on this technological developments and changes in the market.
Handheld devices are becoming part of daily life activities more than ever. Owners of smartphones are using the devices for activities and tasks which they previously would have handled on a standard computer.
