The collection, which is managed by a separate foundation, contains the company archives and provides a unique overview of the functioning of a printing company throughout the centuries, as well as the role of the Enschedé family.
Vault
The museum is located in a large underground vault with an area of six-hundred square metres. In 1996, we started the systematic recording of the various partial collections. We estimate that we have currently made half of our collection available.
History of graphics media
For security reasons, the museum is not open to the public and can only be accessed by appointment. The museum includes many documents and files that have yet to be disclosed and, as a whole, provide an image of the history of graphics media in the widest possible sense.
Research
The museum is a heaven for scientific researchers. They can, for example, investigate the development of the Pertjetakan Kebajoran printing business in Indonesia, the correspondence between Johannes Blauw and the Oprechte Haarlemsche Courant, the correspondence between Joh. Enschedé and design institutions or the role of typographer associations.
