Through the use of Adobe Flex, prospective tenants can now use a rich application to search and browse for rental property, whether as thumbnail images, in a list, or geographically using the integrated geographical interface. Using selection criteria such as price, area, type of property and number of rooms, matching properties are immediately synchronised witzh users‘ preferences,
and stored in a personal profile. All requests are delivered to the end-user in a blink of an eye, thanks to JEA‘s use of Adobe LiveCycle Data Services to handle interactions between the front- and back-end systems.
A guided process of profile-based selection and comparison results in better matches, which results in a shorter time to market for each property.
By using an asynchronous buffer in the data communication between the front-end and the back-end, the new application is available at all times, and no enquiries or registrations are lost. A special algorithm allows the back-end system to decide which tenant is most entitled to a particular property. This is based primarily on the length of time they have been registered, but also on emergency declarations and local policies.
The back-end system also supplies up to date property data and registration data through SOAP/XML.
